You are not born the way you want to look. Most people today, especially in Korea, do not worry about this misfortunate inheritance of unseemly features. "Why worry when there is plastic surgery?" Most think this and in Korea, it is very common in Korea for young women to get plastic surgery, even starting at 16.
Why do they do this? The standard of beauty in Korea has become so stereotypical, that to be "pretty" all girls have to have big eyes with "double eye-lids", a petite and high nose, a v-shaped facial figure, and perfect, white teeth. I can see that many women struggle to achieve these facial features and they do whatever they can to do so.
One of my classical favorite Korean movies is the 200 Pounds Beauty. This movie has a lot to do with plastic surgery and how it transformed one woman's life. I was inspired by the use of plastic surgery to convey a message filled with the desire for many women to become beautiful.
Today, when I walk in Apgujeong, I can see so many plastic surgery hospitals. It is amazing how plastic surgeons in Korea has become so skilled and good over the past few years. Korea has some of the best plastic care clinics and it is very known for the accuracy and naturalness of the procedure. Being part of this industry will be very meaningful to me.
